The Problem
The problem we had with our episode was being able to match a correct/ perfect story line with the purpose of what our episode was demonstrating. Our story had to do with hydroponics (filtering/ cleaning water). The episode was so individual and self explanatory to the point that we couldn't add an exact backstory.
The Research
Aside from the backstory situation, we did research on hydroponics EBB & Flow. that was the main search in our episode. We searched how to make a home made water filter made from any sort of funnel, pebbles, and cloth. Up above is a link to the hydroponics page we used.
Design
The episode was designed to be have two protagonist, which would be big roles in providing clean drinkable/ usable water for the teens trying to survive and thrive on their own. 317 and 454 were given water by the two water scouts from the previous episode to discover a way to be able to drink it without getting sick. There were also supposed to be a few struggles in the attempt to clean the water, in some cases the water would still have dirt in it or just be no where close to clean.
Present for Feedback
We got critique from either group 4 or 6 (episode before or after episode). They looked over the footage we had edited and they wrote notes and comments on curtain things they saw were good or that could be improved or shot a certain way. For example say we weren't supposed to get the school in shot, they suggested a different angle to shoot the shot in to not have the school in the shot.
Select Best Solution
Unfortunately, the best solution for our episode was basically scrap almost the whole episode since there really wasn't a back story, and we instead became the ending of episode 4 and switched one of the actors and had a small purifying montage leading to realizing they will need more power to fully filter the water.
Prototype
The prototypes of our film will be on the episode process evidence page, one linked is our script of what would have been our episode, our own EBB and Flow system and our final episode 4 ending script.
