The Flame Test
Class Lesson: Me and my group taught the class about the Electromagnetic Spectrum.
The Electromagnetic Spectrum is basically a chart or graph that shows the intensity of light being emitted over a range of energies. An example of a the spectrum could be a rainbow. After a rainy day, at a certain angle you can see the light is reflecting of a row of colors. Another example is a prism. The prism is a transparent optical element with flat, polished surfaces that refract light. The prism separates wave lengths to make them a visible light. As the light travels through the prism, it will behave differently than in air (the same happens in water which is why things in water look so different). We then did a small experiment to show how different chemicals give off different light when flame is added. (The Flame Test)
What I found interesting is mainly how the prism works which is explained up above ^. Just seeing it work with my own eyes was amazing.
